Leicester City sign Parma defender Wojo Koulibaly on 4-and-a-half-year contract

Leicester City officially announced that the 25-year-old French defender Wojo Coulibaly has transferred from Parma. Both parties signed a four-and-a-half-year contract until June 30, 2029.

Multiple sources said that Wojo Coulibaly's transfer fee is about 3 million pounds. Gianluca Di Marzio further pointed out that Leicester City will then send Nigerian central defender Caleb Okoli to Parma as part of the Wojo Coulibaly deal.

Wojo Coulibaly came from the Le Havre youth training system and made his debut for the first team in Ligue 2 on August 2, 2019. He moved to Parma in July 2021. So far, he has made 88 appearances, scored 1 goal and provided 6 assists, helping the team qualify for Serie A this season two rounds in advance.

In Leicester City's view, Woyo Koulibaly's offensive and defensive qualities and his versatility on both sides will effectively enhance the team's tactical flexibility. On the other hand, after completing the signing, Woyo Koulibaly said: "It is an honor to come to Leicester City. I feel very good, very welcome, and the training facilities are impressive."

"There are many good players at the club. The Premier League will be a tough challenge but I am looking forward to it."
