According to an exclusive report by The Daily Telegraph on Thursday, Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon is considering leaving the club this summer.
The 25-year-old Gordon came through Everton's youth academy and joined Newcastle United in January 2023 for £45 million. To date, he has made 152 appearances for Newcastle United, scoring 39 goals and providing 28 assists, and has won one English League Cup with the team.
The Daily Telegraph understands that Gordon hopes to determine his future before the World Cup. His contract with Newcastle United runs until June 2030, and industry insiders predict his transfer fee will exceed £80 million.
Although Gordon has not yet formally submitted a transfer request, Newcastle United are already prepared for it. Gordon also has suitors in the top five leagues, with clubs including Bayern Munich and Arsenal expressing interest. As for Liverpool, they may reassess the possibility of signing Gordon given Hugo Ekittik's injury situation.
All signs indicate that Gordon's future will directly trigger a chain reaction within Newcastle. If Gordon leaves this summer, the likelihood of Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali staying at Newcastle United will increase significantly.
