Canada's head coach Jesse Massey has signed a contract extension and will remain in his position until 2030.

The Canadian Football Association (CSA) has released an official statement confirming a contract extension with national team head coach Jesse Massey. The new contract extends the original expiration date of this July by four years, until the end of the 2030 World Cup.

The 52-year-old Mash entered the coaching profession as early as 2010, and was mentored by two renowned coaches, Bob Bradley and Ralf Rangnick. He has also coached several teams, including the Montreal Impact, New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Salzburg, RB Leipzig, and Leeds United, and is considered an outstanding representative of the younger generation of American coaches.

In May 2024, Mashi officially succeeded John Hedman as the head coach of the Canadian national team. To date, he has led the team to a record of 12 wins, 12 draws and 5 losses, with his most notable achievement being a fourth-place finish at the 2024 Copa America.

Regarding the contract extension, Football Federation of Canada CEO and Secretary General Kevin Blu said: "Jesse's contributions on and off the field as head coach of our men's national team have been outstanding. He has established a distinctive style for the team and improved the team's competitive level. We look forward to working with Jesse as head coach to develop and advance a longer-term development plan, and we thank all the donors who supported his contract extension."

Football Federation of Canada President Peter Ogrosso added: “Since joining our program, Jesse has been an outstanding leader for Football Federation of Canada – including serving as an ambassador for the sport and actively engaging with provincial and territorial football organizations, Canadian coaches, and the national football community. We look forward to continuing to move forward with the Canadian national team under Jesse’s leadership.”

Mashi himself stated, "From day one, I felt a strong sense of belonging to this team, this country, and the direction the team is heading. I believe in the enormous potential of this generation of Canadian players and look forward to seeing the continued development of football across the country. I am very pleased to sign a long-term contract here. I pledge to help the team grow and thrive in the future and to continuously push them to the highest level."
