Hoffenheim midfielder Prèmell joined Stuttgart on a free transfer this summer on a three-year contract.

Stuttgart announced on Monday that Hoffenheim midfielder Grisha Prèmell will join the club on a free transfer this summer. The two sides have signed a three-year contract, valid until June 30, 2029.

The 31-year-old Prömer, born in Stuttgart, Germany, sees this transfer as a homecoming for him. After completing the signing, Prömer excitedly stated, "The desire to join FC Stuttgart has been in my heart for a long time. I was born in Bad Kanstadt and grew up in Esslingen, and have followed Stuttgart for many years. For me, this is, in a way, a dream come true. I am very happy to wear the Stuttgart jersey from the start of the new season."

“Stuttgart has demonstrated great strength in recent years and is known for its exciting playing style. The club’s current development is remarkable – I am incredibly honored to be a part of this journey.”

Before joining Stuttgart, Prömer had played for Hoffenheim for four seasons. Despite missing more than 400 days due to an ankle fracture and a torn cruciate ligament, he still made 87 appearances for Hoffenheim, scoring 14 goals and providing 8 assists.

Besides Hoffenheim, Prömer also played for Karlsruhe and Union Berlin. He earned his first Bundesliga appearance in five seasons with Union Berlin, and helped the team make history by qualifying for the 2021/22 Europa League.

Regarding Grisha Promel's arrival, Stuttgart's sporting director Fabian Volgmuth commented: "We are delighted to sign Grisha Promel. Grisha possesses excellent skills, ambition, and has accumulated a wealth of experience over the past few years. This combination makes him a very valuable addition to our squad. Furthermore, he comes from the Stuttgart region, so he has a strong sense of belonging to the club."
