James Garner admitted that being left out of England's World Cup squad was disappointing, but he will use it as motivation to continue improving.

Following Everton's 0-1 away defeat to Tottenham, James Garner spoke to the media, reflecting on his own and the team's performance throughout the season, and discussing his feelings about being left out of England's World Cup squad. He stated that this result would not be a blow to him, but rather a motivation to continue improving.

Reflecting on the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, James Garner said: "We were really disappointed, to be honest. The game was slow-paced, and they didn't create many chances. We felt solid defensively, but we lacked enough threat offensively. Ultimately, the game was decided in one moment, and that moment belonged to them."

"Not winning any of the last seven games is obviously not ideal, so we need to continue to work hard to improve next season. However, looking at the whole season, we have indeed made progress, and it may even be our best year in the last four or five years, which is a positive. But the decline in performance at the end affected the overall result, and we must improve in the new season."

"Midway through the season, we even started discussing our chances of qualifying for European competition, which reflects the team's progress. We could have done it if we hadn't slipped up in the final stages. Although we lost a lot of games towards the end, we also beat a number of strong teams, so overall it was a season of significant improvement."

"Overall, this has probably been the best season of my career so far. I've stayed fit and played the full time in every Premier League game, which makes me very happy from a personal point of view. But I also know there is room for improvement, and I hope to go even further next season."

Finally, when discussing England's exclusion from the World Cup squad, James Garner said: "It's certainly disappointing to be left out, because every player wants to play in the World Cup. But that's the reality, and many excellent players were also left out. I will continue to work hard, and this will only motivate me to do better in the future."
