Mitch van der Wynne: The team's performance this season has been inconsistent, and we must ensure that we improve next season.

With Cristian Romero injured in the match against Sunderland, Mitch van der Wynne took over the captain's armband for the final six games of the season. In Roberto De Zerbi's final seven games in charge, he helped the team achieve three wins and two draws, ultimately securing their survival in the league.  

In the final round of the season, João Palinha's goal helped his team secure all three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. This crucial victory allowed them to finish the season in 17th place, ahead of West Ham United.  

Speaking about the game, Mitch van der Wyn said, "We went through a lot of difficulties, and every player who took the field went through a lot of pain. The team has been plagued by injuries, with some players returning only to fall again, so we have never had a full squad."  

"This has been very difficult for me personally, because the team has been losing game after game. I don't want to hide it, but my mood has also been affected when I'm at home with my family, because the whole situation has really made me feel very bad."

However, since Roberto De Zerbi took over, the team has gradually shown positive changes, we have performed better, and we have started to score points. Now that we have successfully avoided relegation, we must ensure that there will be a significant improvement next season.”
