Yandex and Tundra were among the first teams eliminated in PGL Wallachia Season 8.

The PGL Wallachia Season 8 Swiss Round group stage saw its biggest upset of the tournament today. Team Yandex and Tundra Esports, the tournament's top and second seeds and considered absolute powerhouses in the 2025-2026 Dota 2 professional scene, were eliminated in the third round of the group stage.

These two teams faced off in the ESL One Birmingham finals last month, where Tundra won the championship. However, they were eliminated early in this event with a total prize pool of $1 million, finishing in 15th or 16th place and each receiving a consolation prize of $10,000.

Both teams faced the challenge of missing key players in this tournament. Yandex's offlaner Noticed was absent due to visa issues, and DM filled in for him; Tundra's star carry Pure was also absent due to visa matters for future tournaments, and V-TUNE filled in for him.

The last-minute tactical changes clearly had a serious impact on the two teams' tactical execution and teamwork on the first day, leading to their consecutive defeats in the first two rounds.

Although Yandex dominated the first game against NAVI in 25 minutes, the resilient NAVI then won two more 44-minute battles, coming back from a 1-0 deficit to eliminate Yandex.

In the first game against MOUZ, Tundra was completely outmatched but fought back to win the second game. However, he fell behind in the decisive game. Facing MOUZ's Medusa composition, Tundra failed to mount an effective counterattack and was forced to concede defeat after 40 minutes.

Despite their disappointing performance at PGL Wallachia Season 8, Yandex and Tundra have ample time to regroup. Both teams have secured direct invites to the BLAST Slam VII tournament, held from late May to early June, and are expected to be invited to participate in DreamLeague Season 29, taking place from May 13th to 24th.
