Vitor Pereira says Nottingham Forest had a pretty good weekend. In Sunday's match at City Stadium, Nottingham Forest came from behind to beat Burnley 4-1.
Trailing in the first half, Morgan Gibbs-White completed a hat-trick within 15 minutes of the second half, helping Nottingham Forest secure three crucial points against Burnley. In stoppage time, Igor Jesus added another goal, ultimately sealing the victory for his team on the banks of the Trent River.
This victory puts Nottingham Forest five points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur and four points ahead of West Ham United in the Premier League standings. Just three days after defeating Burnley, Nottingham Forest had advanced to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals, and Vitor Pereira was satisfied with the team's overall performance.
Vitor Pereira said: "We just played a very tough game three days ago, and now we have to face another strong team just three days later. It's a very difficult challenge for the team."
“I tried to make adjustments, re-optimize the team’s tactical system, and explain to the players how to utilize space, how to score goals, and how to fight for the goal. We originally only needed to score two goals, but we ended up scoring four.”
Next, Nottingham Forest will face Sunderland away in the Premier League, with the relegation battle entering its final five rounds. Vitor Pereira stated that the team has already begun preparations for this match.
Vitor Pereira continued: "The result this weekend was good, but I'm trying to create an atmosphere in the team that we fight until the last game of the season. We won't give up, and we'll fight for points in every game."
“The players now need to get back into shape, become stronger, and prepare for the game against Sunderland. We will travel to the away game with the passion of the fans. Even in the difficult moments after conceding a goal, we still felt their support. We always believed we could turn things around, and that felt wonderful. Now we must focus on the next game, with the right mindset and the support of the fans, to fight for points.”
