At the pre-match press conference for Real Madrid's La Liga game against Alavés at the Bernabéu, manager Álvaro Arbeloa gave candid responses to key issues of great interest, including the team's title drought this season, his personal coaching future, and his relationship with the club's management.
Facing the rare possibility that Real Madrid might miss out on the title, Arbeloa did not shy away from the issue. He frankly stated that Real Madrid had been on a successful track for most of the past two decades, so failing at this club would be absolutely unacceptable.
However, Arbeloa also emphasized that Real Madrid's strength lies in always looking to the future, and even winning titles cannot stop them from pursuing new honors. Regarding the current challenges, Arbeloa's attitude is exceptionally firm: "We are well aware of Real Madrid's demanding requirements."
"Right now, we have only one goal: to win the remaining seven games. After the season ends, we will then plan for the next season in a comprehensive way and make all the necessary preparations to return to the championship podium."
When asked about his future, a topic of great interest to the media, Arbeloa remained calm and composed. He clearly stated that as the team's head coach, the decision regarding his future rested entirely with the club's management, and that he himself was not worried about his future at all.
To dispel rumors of discord between the coach and players or pressure from the club's management, Arbeloa proactively revealed details of his communication with the club. He stated that he maintains direct and smooth communication with the club's management every week, and that the two sides have a very good relationship of trust.
“I am a Madridista, and these decisions are more up to the club’s management,” Arbeloa reiterated. “No matter how many times you ask, my answer will be the same. The only future I care about is tomorrow’s first game, which is the only important thing for me and Real Madrid as a whole right now.”
