Romanian CS2 professional team Nexus announced on Thursday that Catalin Stanescu (ID: BTN) has officially decided to temporarily retire from professional esports. Nexus has not yet disclosed who will succeed BTN.
The 36-year-old BTN primarily serves as the in-game leader. Early in his professional career, he played for CS teams such as TeG, neXtPlease!, and aimclub. Since joining Nexus in July 2016, he has played on 2026 maps and participated in 50779 rounds across various competitions, with an average rating of 0.93.
This departure also marks the end of BTN's 3475-day career with Nexus. Looking at the global scene, only FaZe's legendary rifler Havar Nigard (ID: rain) surpasses him in the list of longest consecutive service with a single team.
With BTN's departure, Nexus' current roster is as follows:
Sniper/Rifleman: Adrian Gutta (ID: XELLOW)
Rifleman: Alexandru Stefan (ID: s0und)
Rifleman: Raul Grigor (ID: Blytz)
Rifleman: David Mushuroyu (ID: fnl)
Coach: Daniel Cruz (ID: drn)
