Topmüller: Players must take responsibility on the field.

The 18th round of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season will take place, with Eintracht Frankfurt traveling to face Werder Bremen. Head coach Toppmöller stated that to achieve their goals, they must give their all, and all players on the field must share the responsibility.

Goals from Christensen and Echguayab helped Eintracht Frankfurt lose 2-3 to Stuttgart in their last match. After a run of 1 win, 2 draws, and 2 losses in their last 5 games, Frankfurt currently sits in 7th place in the standings with 26 points.

Frankfurt coach Toppmöller said, "I want to win. Every player on the field has to take responsibility, and so do I and the coaching staff. We play professional football, and our goal is to succeed, so we have to give everything for it. We need a victory so that the players can relax both physically and mentally."

“The players have very high expectations of themselves, and I can feel their burning desire. We were previously facing teams ranked 2nd and 3rd in the standings, and we could have gotten more points, but we failed to do so, which is very disappointing. Many times, the game is decided by the details. If we want to compete with strong teams like Dortmund and Stuttgart, we must maintain a high level of focus for 90 minutes.”

In head-to-head records, Frankfurt has a record of 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss in their last 5 matches against Werder Bremen, who are currently ranked 13th in the standings with 17 points.

Topmüller continued, "Werder Bremen has proven they can play a very good attack and have a strong scoring ability, but I don't know why they haven't been able to fully demonstrate their strength on the field recently. This is a match played in Bremen, so the atmosphere will definitely be very intense. We hope to prove with our performance that we can do better."

Regarding the options for the forward line, Topmüller said, "Ebounu Talib is in a difficult situation right now. He had a fantastic debut after joining the club, and with his attitude and connection to the club, he quickly became a symbol of hope, scoring on his debut. His injury, to some extent, symbolizes the ups and downs of our entire season. Kalimundo performed very well against Stuttgart and is capable of playing the full 90 minutes for Werder Bremen."

Furthermore, Topmüller stated, "Robin Koch is our captain, and most importantly, he needs to maintain consistency and provide the team with everything it needs. He is experienced and knows how to adjust himself. He has performed exceptionally well over the past two seasons, and his return to the national team is well-deserved."
