Flick firmly believes that Xabi Alonso has a bright future.

Spanish legend Xabi Alonso recently stepped down as manager of Real Madrid, and Barcelona manager Hansi Flick said he believes Alonso will soon find a new job and have a bright future.

After goals from Vinicius and Gonzalo García, Real Madrid lost 2-3 to Barcelona in the earlier Spanish Super Cup final, failing to lift the trophy. A day later, manager Xabi Alonso parted ways with Real Madrid, and 42-year-old Arbeloa became the manager of Real Madrid's first team.

When discussing Xabi Alonso, Barcelona coach Flick said, "That's football. I have a very good relationship with Xabi Alonso. I met him at Bayer Leverkusen when I was the national team coach and we've kept in touch ever since."

"He is a very good coach, but that's football, and we have to accept those things. He will definitely have new and important projects, both for himself and for his team."

Flick continued, "As managers, we all have to keep moving forward and think about where we can do better. But he is an outstanding manager and his future looks very bright."

In addition, Barcelona will travel to Spain to challenge Segunda División leaders Racing Santander in the Round of 16 of the 2025/26 Copa del Rey, continuing their quest for another title.
