Despite being named Wolves' South Division Player of the Month for December thanks to a stellar start to his career, Matthäus Mane remained humble and grounded. The England youth international began to shine in the Premier League in December, providing his first top-flight assist against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, and followed with similar performances against Liverpool and Manchester United; however, Wolves managed only one point that month.
Matthäus Mane carried his excellent form into January. He contributed a goal and an assist in the victory against West Ham United at Molineux Stadium. He then scored his second career goal in an away game against Everton, helping his team to a draw. Despite winning his first Player of the Month award, the 18-year-old knows his journey is far from over.
Speaking about winning the December fan vote, Matthäus Mane said: "Winning the Player of the Month award is really exciting, and I'm very happy to receive the fans' vote. This is the first time in my career that I've won the Player of the Month award, and it's very special to win this honor for the team. Our whole team has put in a lot of effort this month, but we must keep moving forward, and I'm very happy to receive this award."
“This month has been busy and fulfilling, with goals, assists, wins, and draws. We train hard every day, striving for good results, and I think we have proven our efforts. The team is steadily moving towards our goals, and hopefully we can maintain this form until the end of the season.”
"It felt great to come on as a substitute against Arsenal. They are likely to be strong contenders for the Premier League title this season, so it was very exciting to come off the bench and assist a teammate's goal. It meant a lot to me to be able to contribute to the team like that. Scoring my first Premier League goal was even more unforgettable, and I know it was a special moment for my family, friends and all the fans who support me."
“It feels amazing to have the support of the fans, especially to hear them chanting my name. My family was there too, so scoring my first goal in front of them made me incredibly proud, and the fans gave me extra motivation. But I have to stay grounded and keep working as hard as I always have to prove to them that I can do more. I need to play every day and show my ability in every game.”
“I’m determined to keep improving. Every day in training, whether in the gym or on the field, I have to keep going. I need to work on building strength, focus on training, and study how we play, applying what I’ve learned to the game. I just need to keep working hard while staying humble. I know I’m still young and have a long career ahead of me. I have to be grounded and take it one step at a time because anything can change in an instant.”
