Bournemouth winger Semenho has officially joined Manchester City, signing a contract until 2031.

Manchester City announced on Friday that they have officially signed Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenho. The two sides signed a five-and-a-half-year contract, valid until June 30, 2031.

The official announcement also confirmed that Semenio will wear the number 42 jersey for Manchester City.

The 26-year-old Semenho came through the Bristol City youth academy and spent early in his career playing for several lower-league clubs in England, including Beth City, Newport County, and Sunderland. He joined Bournemouth in January 2023, making 110 appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 13 assists.

At the national team level, Semenio has made 32 appearances for Ghana so far, contributing 3 goals and 1 assist.

Semenho's contract with Bournemouth was originally set to expire in June 2030, with a £65 million release clause. According to TA journalist David Ornstein, Manchester City did not directly activate this clause, but instead sought a different approach through negotiation.

As part of the deal, Manchester City will pay a fixed transfer fee of £62.5 million over two years, plus up to £1.5 million in performance-related bonuses. Bournemouth will also receive a 10% cut of any future transfer fee if Semenho is sold by Manchester City.

Following the signing, Manchester City's sporting director, Hugo Viana, said: "Antoine's arrival is of great significance to the club. He expressed his desire to join Manchester City immediately, and his passion for the club remained consistent throughout the transfer process."
