Mason Melia to join Tottenham in January 2026

Tottenham Hotspur announced that it has reached an agreement with St. Patrick's Athletic of the Irish League to officially sign Mason Melia, who will join Tottenham in January 2026.

At just 17 years old, Melia agreed to a contract with Tottenham that will last until 2031. Melia has played for many clubs, including Newtown Youth, St. Joseph's Boys and Bray Rangers.

In the summer of 2022, Melia joined the youth training system of St. Patrick's Athletic and broke into the first team in 2023. At the age of 15, Melia became a first-team player.

In his first season with the first team, Melia broke numerous records. In the Leinster Senior Cup against Wexford, Melia scored and became the youngest player and goalscorer in the history of St. Patrick's Athletic.

In November 2023, just a few days after signing his first professional contract, Melia became the youngest player in history to win the Irish FAA Cup , helping the team defeat their opponents and win the championship trophy.

So far, Melia has played 54 times for St. Patrick's Athletic and contributed 10 goals. Last year, Melia was also named PFAI Young Player of the Year, becoming the youngest winner in history.

In international competitions, Melia is also a regular at all levels of the Republic of Ireland youth team. Melia represented the national team in the 2023 European U17 Championship and was selected for the Republic of Ireland U21 team for the first time in October 2024.
