Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP)'s CS2 division released a statement on Wednesday confirming a contract extension with coach Richard Landström (ID: Xizt). NiP has not yet disclosed the contract length or other details.
Since taking over in March 2024, 34-year-old Xizt has spearheaded NiP's rebuilding efforts, leading the team from zero VRS points in January to a successful qualification for the upcoming StarLadder Budapest Major.
Before transitioning to coaching, Xizt played as a player for several CS2 teams, including NiP, FaZe, Fnatic, and Dignitas. From 2012 to 2018, he played 1238 maps and participated in 31393 rounds for NiP, achieving an average rating of 1.02. He also helped the team win numerous major championships, including the 2012 Esports World Cup, the 2012 DreamHack Winter, the ESEA Season 13 Global Finals, the 2013 DreamHack Summer, the ESEA Season 14 Global Finals, the 2013 DreamHack Bucharest, the Fragbite Masters Season 1, the 2014 DreamHack Summer, the 2014 ESL One Cologne, the 2016 DreamHack Malmö Masters, the SL i StarSeries Season 2, and the 2016 IEM Oakland.
