AC Milan defender Kyle Walker joins on loan with buyout clause

AC Milan officially announced that the 34-year-old English defender Kyle Walker has joined on loan from Manchester City. His loan period in Milan will last until the end of this season, and the contract comes with an optional buyout clause of 5 million euros.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Walker's salary during the loan period will be fully borne by AC Milan. If Milan exercises the buyout clause, Walker will receive a two-year contract and an annual salary of 4 million euros. Manchester City will retain a share of his future transfer income.

According to previous Italian media reports, Walker's loan fee is 1 million euros.

Walker came from Sheffield United's youth training and has played for Northampton, Tottenham Hotspur, Queens Park Rangers, Aston Villa and other teams. He has played for Manchester City since July 2017, and has played 319 times so far, scoring 6 goals and providing 23 assists. He has won 1 Champions League, 1 Club World Cup, 6 Premier League titles, 1 European Super Cup, 2 FA Cups, 4 English League Cups and 2 Community Shield titles with the team.

However, Walker's playing time has been greatly reduced as his form has declined this season. He eventually chose to leave Manchester City in the winter window to seek more playing time to regain his form.

After completing the signing, Walker expressed his feelings about joining the team on social media: "I am very happy and proud to sign with AC Milan! Later, Walker said in an interview with Milan TV: "Tammy Abraham told me that I should come and he helped me make the decision. Milan fans are incredible. Their singing and support means a lot to me and will be an important motivation for me before the end of the season."

According to Milan's announcement, Walker will wear the No. 32 jersey during the loan period. In response, the player explained: "I chose No. 32 because of David Beckham, who is an idol in our country."
