Matt Doherty: We have to stay focused throughout the game and do our best to do better

In the match between Wolves and Chelsea, the team lost to the opponent with a score of 1-3. Matt Doherty said that he was not sure why the team failed to continue the momentum established before the end of the second half and eventually lost to Chelsea.  

Matt Doherty's close-range strike in first-half stoppage time seemed to breathe new life into Wolves, but a poor second half saw the visitors concede their 19th set-piece of the season. Matt Doherty believes Wolves must show a new attitude when defending set-pieces if they are to end their winless Premier League run.  

Regarding the team's defeat, Matt Doherty said: "Everyone knows Chelsea's strength, but from the beginning I felt that we had not met expectations. There were times in the game when we were under a lot of pressure, and although we looked like we might be able to do something, it didn't last long."  

"You have to play the full 90 minutes against every team in the Premier League and I think there were too many times in the game where we didn't play the full 90 minutes.  

"We had to stay focused throughout the game and play our best. In the second half, you would think we had a lot of momentum from the end of the first half, but we didn't really seem to continue, we didn't seem to create much. So, we are disappointed with the game."  

In addition, Matt Doherty also talked about the team's progress under the leadership of coach Vitor Pereira. Matt Doherty said: "When he first took office, we achieved some good results, successfully passed the cup and advanced to the next round. However, now our schedule is very difficult and we have to let everyone play. We will not use this as an excuse."  

"We are looking at games like this, like the last game against Newcastle. I think we can score and then we have Arsenal next and it's also a home game. We have to look at all the home games and try to score."
