Brentford released a statement on Wednesday confirming that Kane Lewis-Porter has completed a contract extension. The new contract will be extended from 2028 to June 2031, with an option for a further year.
Kane Lewis-Porter, 23, mainly plays as a left winger, but can also play as a left midfielder, attacking midfielder, center forward, left back, right winger, etc. He came from Hull City's youth training system and made his first appearance for the first team in the FA Cup against Millwall on January 6, 2019.
In July 2022, Lewis Potter joined Brentford from Hull City for 19 million euros. In his second season at Brentford, he became an important member of Thomas Frank's tactical system with his comprehensive skills. So far, he has made 71 appearances, scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists.
Commenting on the decision to renew Lewis-Potter's contract, Brentford manager Thomas Frank said: "I am very pleased that we have agreed a new contract with Kane. He has made great progress in recent years."
“We know him as primarily an attacking player – a winger – but he can play in all positions in the front four; he has also shown the versatility to play in a number of other positions. He has demonstrated that this season with his impressive performances at left-back.”
"In my opinion, he is a great player for Brentford with a lot of technical ability: he is very good in one-on-ones and his crossing is very accurate. He also contributes to the team in other ways."
Frank concluded, “He has a great future at Brentford.”
Lewis-Porter said: "It feels great to sign a new contract. I am grateful to have completed the extension and can't wait for the future."
"Brentford is a great club. They have been really good to me since I arrived. I feel like I have grown a lot, especially this season. There is a lot of solidarity... It's a great club."
Talking about his goals after the contract extension, Lewis Porter said: "I just want to do my best to help the team. Of course I hope to score more goals, send more assists, and create more opportunities for my teammates. If it is on the defensive side, it is to keep a clean sheet, help the team win as much as possible and improve the ranking."
As for the future further afield, he added: “Hopefully I can win the Premier League with Brentford! Year after year I just hope to keep improving because with the squad we have now we have the quality to reach new heights.”
