Mohamed Salah's agent has personally arrived in Liverpool to continue negotiating the player's contract extension matters with the club..

Liverpool ECHO's resident renowned English Liverpool team correspondent Paul Gorst, exclusively confirmed in an interview with Redmen TV, a YouTube channel operated by Liverpool's official fans organization, on Saturday that Ramy Abbas, the agent of the club's Egypt international right winger Mohamed Salah, has arrived in Liverpool and will continue to negotiate with the Reds in person on the player's contract extension matters.

According to Gorst, Liverpool had specially invited Ramy Abbas to come to Anfield to meet with sporting director Richard Hughes and CEO Michael Edwards on the eve of the club's match against arch-rivals Manchester United this weekend so that it would be more convenient for them to further negotiate Salah's contract extension matters.

It is reported that the reason why the two sides have not reached an agreement is mainly because that they have not reached an agreement on Salah's wages and bonuses, and Abbas has never received approaches from Paris Saint-Germain as the inferior online media outlet TalkSPORT had falsely claimed.

Gorst also said that Mohamed Salah only said in the interview: "Before completing the contract extension, it seems that this will be my last year at Liverpool", but this does not mean that the player has decided to leave the club, so he hopes that people with bad intentions will not distort the content of the interview to fabricate fake rumours.

On the other hand, he also confirmed that Liverpool had rejected Real Madrid's offer of £20 million for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Gorst said that Liverpool had decisively rejected Los Blancos' offer the moment they received Real Madrid's approach, because the Reds had no possibility of agreeing to let Alexander-Arnold leave the club in the midseason.

He added that although he was not 100% sure that Alexander-Arnold would not join Real Madrid as a free agent next season, he could be sure that the player himself would focus wholeheartedly on helping the Reds end the season with the best results and would not agree to suddenly leave the club during this winter transfer window.

Gorst also refuted the fake report that Liverpool offered him a weekly wages of £300,000, which could increase to £78 million per year.

He criticized that the said report from the Mirror was completely untrue because it just copied and pasted the wages offered by Manchester United when signing the legendary Chile international striker Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal a few years ago into the fake news about Alexander-Arnold. Moreover, the player himself has said that he will not disclose his wages requirements to the public, thus rendering this said report being simply fabricated.

Gorst said that although it is known that the La Liga giants will definitely continue to agressively approach the club and the player himself, Liverpool is still confident that they can keep Alexander-Arnold.

Finally, Gorst also provided a follow-up on the transfer speculation related to the Scotland international winger wonderkid Ben Doak.

Gorst confirmed that Liverpool had rejected offers of £15 million and £17.5 million from Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town for Doak respectively.

He said Liverpool had no intention of selling Doak to its Premier League rivals midway through the season because the club did not want to interrupt the good development he had made during his loan at Middlesbrough.

While Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town made offers to the club, Liverpool also politely informed Middlesbrough that they had decided to reject Doak's offer.

Gorst revealed that unless an offer of more than £30 million was received, Liverpool had no intention of accepting any offer for Doak because the wonderkid was still a future star that the club rates very highly.

Doak, who has been plagued by injuries in recent years, had no intention of leaving Middlesbrough midway through the season as well to interrupt the good development he had made after returning from injury.

So far this season, Doak has played 20 times for the EFL Championship club in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists.
