Real Sociedad's Nigeria international center forward Umar Sadiq joins Valencia on-loan..




Valencia announced on its official website on Saturday that Real Sociedad's Nigeria international center forward Umar Sadiq has joined the club on-loan.


According to Valencia's official statement, Sadiq will play for the club on-loan until the end of this season and and the loan agreement includes a buyout clause. At the same time, he will also wear the No. 12 jersey.


After completing his joining procedures, Sadiq, who was interviewed by Valencia's official website for the first time, said: "When I started talking to Miguel Angel Corona (Valencia's sporting director), I realized that I had a lot in common with Valencia because I was eager for the future. I also saw that because of the club's situation, there were many people here who were eager for the future. I saw this motivation to fit in, which prompted me to choose to come here."



About Umar Sadiq



Sadiq, 27, was born in Kaduna, Nigeria on February 2, 1997. He is 1.92 meters tall and plays as a center forward.


Sadiq has played in the youth academies of many local Nigerian clubs since he was a child. In 2013, he had an outstanding performances when he went to Croatia with the team to participate in a small tournament and got the opportunity to join the Spezia youth academy the following year.


In July 2015, Sadiq was loaned-out to Roma and completed his Roma first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in November of the same year.


Although he did not get many opportunities to play during his time with I Giallorossi, Roma decided to buy out Sadiq's rights the following summer due to his outstanding performances in limited opportunities.


From 2016 to the first half of 2019, Sadiq was loaned-out to Bologna, Torino, NAC Breda, Rangers and Perugia.


In July 2019, Sadiq was loaned-out to Partizan Belgrade, and his rights were officially bought out the following summer.


During his two-year spell with Partizan Belgrade, Sadiq became one of the most efficient goalscoring African players in European football that year.


In October 2020, Sadiq joined Almeria for €5 million.


During his two-year spell with Almeria, Sadiq won the Spanish Segunda Division once with the club.


On the 2022 summer transfer window deadline day, Sadiq moved to Real Sociedad for €20 million.


Since becoming a member of Txuri-Urdin, Sadiq has played 50 times for the La Liga powerhouse in all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists.
