Real Sociedad officially completes contract extension with Venezuela international defender wonderkid Jon Aramburu..

Real Sociedad announced on its official website on Friday that the has extended the contract with the Venezuela international defender wonderkid Jon Aramburu.

According to Real Sociedad's official statement, Aramburu has signed on a long-term five-and-a-half year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030. According to the regulations of the official La Liga , his release clause has also been increased to €65 million.

About Jon Aramburu

Aramburu, now only 22 years old, was born on July 23, 2002 in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. He is 1.76 meters tall and primarily plays as a right back. He can also play as a center back or left back. He has Basque ancestry and automatically has Venezuelan and Spanish dual citizenship.

Aramburu joined the youth academy of Real Sociedad since he was a child, but because he was a minor and had not obtained his Spanish citizenship yet, he was forced to leave the club in 2017 and return to Venezuela to join the youth academy of the local club Deportivo La Guaira.

In February 2020, Aramburu, who was still 17 years old at the time, completed his Deportivo La Guaira first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a Venezuelan Cup match, and won the Venezuelan Primera División once with the club.

In August 2022, Aramburu, who had just turned 20, obtained his Spanish citizenship and joined Real Unión, the non-league club established by Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery at the Basque Country Autonomous Region as a free agent.

In August of the following year, Aramburu officially returned to Real Sociedad and completed his first-team debut in January 2024.

Since becoming a member of Txuri-Urdin, Aramburu has played 36 times for the La Liga powerhouse in all competitions, but has not yet scored any goals or made any assists.
