Thomas Soucek: The team is in excellent form right now, and we must continue this momentum.

Thomas Soucek congratulated his teammates and West Ham fans after scoring a goal that helped the team stage a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Everton at the London Stadium. The first half was somewhat uneventful, but the 31-year-old midfielder broke the deadlock early in the second half with his trademark header from a Jarrod Bowen corner, adding a highlight to his 200th Premier League start and igniting the passion of the second half.  

In the final stages of the match, Kiernan Diussbury-Hall equalized, briefly pulling West Ham United back into the relegation zone. However, substitute Callum Wilson scored the winning goal in the second minute of stoppage time, helping the team secure three valuable points in this crucial relegation battle.  

After the match, Thomas Soucek said: "It felt great because we all knew how important this game was, and everyone, both the players and the fans, was fully committed. Of course, we were happy when we scored first, and it meant a lot to me, but we also knew there were still about 40 minutes left in the game. It was tough to be tied 1-1, but we persevered, and the fans kept supporting us. So when we scored the second goal, the whole stadium erupted."  

“The atmosphere was incredibly electric, everyone was on fire. I’m happy for Callum Wilson, and for the whole team and the fans. We’re in great form right now, and we have to keep it going.”  

Thomas Soucek was delighted with his fifth league goal of the season, but he specifically mentioned his teammate Callum Wilson, who also scored his sixth goal. He said, "I have to give him a lot of respect because it hasn't been an easy experience for him here. However, he remains a very important player for us."  

“He has proven that in training and in matches. We know he has a great ability to score goals, and today he saved us again, just like he did in January when we played away against Tottenham Hotspur. I must pay my deepest respects to him for everything he has done for the club.”  

This victory, along with the wins of Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest this round, leaves the league table unchanged. West Ham United still lead Tottenham by 2 points and trail Nottingham Forest by 3 points, with 4 rounds remaining. Next, West Ham United will travel to face Brentford, and Thomas Soucek hopes that he and his teammates can continue their good form from the second half of the season, building on the 7 points they have gained in their previous 3 matches.  

Thomas Soucek added: "The situation has improved. Of course, we didn't perform well in a few games before, but now the situation has clearly improved, and we must continue this momentum and seize the opportunities. We just need to continue to enjoy the game and strive for good results, because everything is still in our own hands."
