According to ESPN, sources indicate that the Milwaukee Bucks are close to signing former Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins as their new head coach.
Jenkins served as an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2018-19 season. He then coached the Memphis Grizzlies for six seasons, achieving a franchise-best record of 250 wins and 214 losses, and leading the team to the playoffs three times. The Bucks' management highly values his ability to develop players and reshape the team culture, thus making him their top choice for the new head coaching position.
This season, the Bucks finished with a 32-50 record, ending their nine-year playoff streak. Former head coach Doc Rivers was dismissed after a mediocre 97-103 record. Jenkins' primary task upon taking over is to lead this struggling team to rebuild a winning system.
However, the arrival of the new manager has not dispelled the rumors surrounding the departure of star player Giannis Antetokounmpo. It has been revealed that Antetokounmpo was not involved in the managerial selection process and did not have any substantive communication with the club's management. He will enter the final guaranteed year of his contract next season.
In a recent interview, when asked if he would leave the team, Antetokounmpo said frankly, "I don't know, it's not up to me. We'll see."
