Rob Edwards admitted he was disappointed with the result, but the players showed a strong spirit of dedication on the field.

Rob Edwards was disappointed as his Wolverhampton Wanderers suffered a narrow defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at the Molineux Stadium. Tottenham secured the victory with a winning goal from João Palinha after a free-kick wasn't fully cleared. In the final moments of the match, João Gomez's set-piece was saved by the opposing goalkeeper, narrowly avoiding an equalizer for the home side.

After the match, the manager praised the players' attitude of giving their all despite relegation being a foregone conclusion, and believed that the team's performance was something to learn from. Rob Edwards said: "The final result is indeed hard to accept. Obviously, we faced a team with a clear objective. They were in high spirits, the new head coach was full of energy, and you could see his philosophy reflected in the team, but I think we were evenly matched with them."

"Considering everything we've been through this week, I think the players really gave it their all, and their performance fully deserved that level of intensity. We were the better team in the second half, constantly putting pressure on the attack. But conceding a goal and losing the game in that way is really upsetting."

Speaking about João Gomez's free kick, Rob Edwards said, "You can imagine how everyone would feel if that ball had gone in at the last moment, but that's the beauty of football. There were some subtle things going on before the corner kick was taken, so the offside call was very close."

"But that's football, that's how the game unfolds, and today was destined to be no exception because this game was very important. It could have been a magical moment, a free kick that went straight into the top corner, or a second attack after a corner kick, but one or two players were just a little distracted, and the offside call was very close."

“They put in a lot of effort and showed a strong sense of dedication, which I think was very evident today. They performed very well in all aspects of the game, whether it was running, physical contact or anything else. I think we were just a little lacking on offense, which is obviously an important part of the game.”

Finally, Rob Edwards addressed the impact of relegation, adding: "To be honest, we were aware of this situation a long time ago, so we were mentally prepared and did a lot of work. But now we are still trying to achieve some results to lay the foundation for next season and maintain morale and belief. It's not easy because nobody likes to lose."

"The fans' support was excellent from start to finish, but losing is undoubtedly disappointing for them. In the current situation, we need to find a way to achieve some results, but the lads showed great mentality and fighting spirit today."
