Matt Doherty admitted he was disappointed with the result, but the players' performance was still commendable.

Matt Doherty was disappointed with Wolves' failure to achieve a satisfactory result in their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, especially after conceding a goal due to a defensive error in the final stages of the match. Despite having already determined their direction for next season, Wolves fought hard and put considerable pressure on Tottenham at times, but ultimately suffered their third consecutive Premier League defeat.  

With four games remaining in the season, Matt Doherty urged his teammates to continue their fighting spirit, hoping the team can carry the current momentum into next season. After the match, he said, "This game may have been quite tense, and perhaps not very exciting for neutral spectators, but we know very well how important it is to Tottenham Hotspur. We know what this game means to them, and we also understand that it's equally crucial for us."  

“We wanted to finish the season as strongly as possible, and everyone was giving their all to play well, especially in front of our home fans. Of course, it was disappointing to concede a goal near the end, but I think the whole game was very close, and we always gave it our all. I can’t blame any of my teammates; everyone fought to the very end, and no one gave up or quit the game. We kept trying, but ultimately we just fell a little short.”  

“I think we played well. We were competitive throughout the game, but it was really unfortunate to concede a goal from a set piece in the final stages. As a team, especially in this league, which is actually the same in any league, conceding a goal from a set piece makes people think it's one of our strengths, but we shouldn't have conceded a goal like that again.”  

"It's certainly disappointing, but the players gave it their all and showed a strong will to win. We persevered until the very last moment, never giving up or stopping. Although we lost the game, I think the players' performance deserves recognition."  

“We hope to finish the season strong. We want to win, we don’t want to finish last, and we should at least try to avoid being at the bottom. Although we have been relegated, we still don’t want to be last, that’s just a small goal. There are four games left in the season, and we want to get as many points as possible, that’s our motivation. We don’t want to end the season with a seven-game losing streak, that would be bad for anyone, so our goal is to win.”  

"The players don't actually need me to motivate them. Everyone is motivated to give their all for themselves and for personal honor. Every time you play for the club, you are also representing yourself, so naturally you want to play well. Whatever happens this summer, whether players leave or stay, this should be a source of motivation. No matter where they go in the future, everyone wants to leave a good impression. Everyone's motivation is to play well, for Wolves."  

"The team crest is still there, and the players still need to play for the team, so we don't need any extra motivation. But I think that was already evident in the game; the players didn't lack energy or desire to win. Given our current situation, this could have happened, but the players were in excellent form today."
