Schürlzel praised Brighton for demonstrating excellent dominance after defeating Chelsea.

Brighton & Hove Albion, nicknamed "The Seagulls," secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Chelsea, thanks to goals from Kawhi Leonard, Hinschel Wood, and Danny Welbeck, in the 34th round of the 2025/26 Premier League season. Coach Schürlzer stated that his team displayed excellent dominance in the match and also urged his players to remain humble.

Brighton's corner kick in the 3rd minute was deflected by Chelsea defender Jorel Hatto, and then Cardiogolou slotted it home, giving Brighton a dream start of 1-0. In the 56th minute, Ruttel regained possession and launched an attack, with Hinschelwood receiving the ball and slotting it home from inside the box to extend Brighton's lead over Chelsea to 2-0.

In stoppage time of the second half, De Kuiper passed the ball back from the left wing, and Welbeck in the penalty area pushed the ball into the net, helping Brighton extend their lead to 3-0.

Brighton ultimately defeated Chelsea 3-0 at home.

Brighton manager André Schürlzer said in an interview, "We played a very good game, defended well, had good structure in possession, and created a lot of chances. Overall, it was a very good performance, but we must continue to move forward."

Schürlzer noted, "We anticipated that our opponents would make some changes, and it's not easy to accurately predict what they will do, but overall, we showed strong leadership on the field. There were a few minutes when we were on the back foot, but we quickly regained our rhythm and found our own style of play."

After achieving 4 wins and 1 draw in the last 5 rounds, Brighton is currently ranked 6th in the standings with 50 points, and has a chance to compete for a European qualification spot.

Schürlzer added, "We are now able to control the pace of the game better and perform more consistently. We can't win every game, but we always give our all on the field, and making the fans proud is our goal."
