April 23 - Keldon Johnson has been named the 2025-26 NBA Sixth Man of the Year. The San Antonio Spurs forward scored 1,081 points off the bench this season, becoming the first player in franchise history to surpass 1,000 points off the bench in a single season.
According to official NBA statistics, Keldon Johnson received 63 first-place votes, 28 second-place votes, and 3 third-place votes in the Sixth Man of the Year voting , totaling 404 points. Following closely behind is Jaime Hexkes of the Miami Heat , who received 34 first-place votes, 51 second-place votes, and 8 third-place votes, for a total of 331 points, placing him second.
Speaking about winning the award, Johnson said, "I longed to be a member of the San Antonio Spurs. Although it was not easy to become a substitute at first, when I put aside my ego and put the team first, everything became possible."
This season, Johnson has displayed exceptional efficiency off the bench, scoring 20+ points 13 times. He also ranks among the top five in franchise history in rebounds (303), free throws made (154), free throw attempts (194), and plus-minus (+3.9) off the bench, with a career-high 60% two-point field goal percentage, demonstrating a well-rounded and consistent performance.
