Callum Wilson was delighted to score the winning goal and believed the team displayed tremendous fighting spirit and determination throughout the match.

In the London derby, West Ham United faced Tottenham Hotspur in a fiercely contested match. Callum Wilson, coming on as a substitute, scored the winning goal just two minutes later. After the game, he jokingly attributed the victory to his experience and skill. In the 15th minute, West Ham took the lead through a deflected shot from Cristiano Somerville, beating Tottenham's goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. However, Tottenham equalized in the second half with a header from Cristian Romero.  

As Thomas Frank's team continued to press late in the game in an attempt to equalize, West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo brought on Callum Wilson in the first minute of stoppage time. The number 9 made his first appearance since the defeat to Wolves in early January.  

Callum Wilson made an immediate impact after coming on as a substitute, his shot being brilliantly saved by Pedro Polo, earning a corner. He then reappeared in a crucial position, timely tapping in a free kick from Ollie Scalles, the ball bouncing over Dinos Mavropanos's head, completing a spectacular attack.  

After the match, Callum Wilson said: "Scoring the winning goal in the last minute is extremely exciting. I think it reflects my experience because I know the position of the goal. Thank God my efforts paid off today. Usually when I come on late in the game, I hope to help the team advance the ball forward, maintain possession, and create opportunities for continued attacks."  

"The opponent had the upper hand at the time, so this goal was somewhat unexpected. The chest control and volley near the end of the game were impressive. Although the goal itself wasn't fancy, it was definitely a brilliant moment."

I was careful to stay on the right side of the pitch and I knew VAR would review the play, but at that moment I had no doubts and was completely absorbed in the goal celebration. That moment was brilliant and it perfectly demonstrated the importance of doing your job well and maintaining a professional attitude, even if you only have limited playing time. As long as you keep working hard, you will be rewarded, and we hope to use this to inspire the team to keep moving forward.”  

West Ham United finally secured their first league victory of the season since November 8th, greatly boosting the team's confidence in avoiding relegation. Callum Wilson stated that the victory was well-deserved, as the team displayed a spirited and determined derby at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Next, West Ham will return home to face Sunderland, and the 33-year-old striker believes he and his teammates can continue their recent good form and strive for a third consecutive win in all competitions.  

Callum Wilson added: “Although I didn’t play for long, I think my teammates played exceptionally well. They created many opportunities early on, and everyone was back on defense, which is exactly the attitude needed in this game. Everyone showed great fighting spirit and determination, and this victory is especially valuable against such a strong opponent.”

The victory gave us a clear direction to work towards, and we also secured three points in the crucial league match.
