Eintracht Frankfurt announced on their official website on Sunday that they have triggered the buy-back clause of Greuther Fürth striker Noel Futkeu.
According to Eintracht Frankfurt's official statement, Futkeu will become a permanent member of the club again in the summer of 2026.
About Noel Futkeu
The 23-year-old Futkeu was born on December 6, 2002, in Essen, Germany. He is 1.83 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a right winger or attacking midfielder. He holds dual German and Cameroonian citizenship.
Futkeu played for the youth academies of several non-league clubs in Essen during his childhood. In January 2019, he joined the youth academy of Rot-Weiss Essen, and the following summer, he joined the youth academy of FC Köln.
In July 2022, Futkeu joined Schwarz-Weiss Essen as a free agent.
During his time at Schwarz-Weiss Essen, Futtek won the Golden Boot after scoring 30 league goals, immediately attracting the attention of several Bundesliga clubs.
The following summer, Futkeu joined Eintracht Frankfurt. During his time there, he only played for the reserve team.
In the summer of 2024, Futkeu joined Greuther Fürth for €350,000.
Since joining Greuther Fürth, Futkeu has made 67 appearances for the 2. Bundesliga club in all competitions, scoring 28 goals and providing 8 assists.
