Former Manchester United player Ashley Young officially announce retirement from football at the end of the season..

Former Manchester United England international player Ashley Young announced on Thursday via his official social media account that he will officially retire at the end of the season, ending his 26-year professional football career.

In his official statement, Young said: “From Sefton Road to Vicarage Road, then to Villa Park, Wembley, Old Trafford, San Siro, back to Villa Park, then to Goodison Park, and finally to Portman Road.”

“It’s been a journey I’ve dreamed of since childhood. I’m incredibly proud and fortunate to have achieved everything I’ve accomplished in my career.”

“You rarely have the opportunity to sit down and reflect on these things in your career, but over the past 23 years, I’ve achieved my dreams. Now it’s time to look back on what I’ve accomplished, and in the coming weeks and months, I will decide on my next steps.”

“But none of this is set in stone. My entire focus right now is on Saturday’s game, helping the club achieve our goal – returning to the Premier League.”

Currently playing for Ipswich Town, Young will face Queens Park Rangers in the Championship final match this weekend. He will undoubtedly give his all, with his abundant experience, to help the Tractor Boys return to the Premier League as Championship runners-up.
