Hugo Bueno: This is a hard-to-accept defeat because the team's overall performance was actually not bad.

Hugo Bueno expressed his disappointment at the team's failure to achieve a satisfactory result after Wolves' match against Tottenham Hotspur. The late winner sealed Wolves' third consecutive defeat. Having already been relegated last week, Wolves had hoped to bounce back from their recent away losses, but after Tottenham took the lead, they failed to find any chance to equalize.  

With only four games remaining in the 2025/26 season, Hugo Bueno, one of the team's more consistent performers this season, reflected on the 0-1 defeat and discussed his mindset in the final stages of the season.  

Hugo Bueno said: "Of course, this is another hard-to-accept defeat because I think my teammates played well. It was a very competitive match, and we gave it our all on the field. We knew the intensity of the game would be very high because our opponents had to win."  

"Overall, our opponents are also going through a rough patch, so I think the pace and intensity of the game are quite similar. We gave it our all, but we were always a little lacking in our final pass, and if we couldn't finish the pass, it would be hard to get the desired result."  

"After two tough matches two weeks ago, coming here and seeing the stadium packed to capacity, you realize you have to give your all for the fans, the club, and everyone. The situation is indeed difficult, but we will never give up; that has never been an option. We have four games left, and we will strive for the best possible result."  

"Of course, everyone has times when they're not in top form, but for me, backing down is never an option. Sometimes I might wake up in the morning feeling a bit tired, but the moment I put on my jersey and step onto the training field for the first time, I force myself to give it my all and do my best. Then the next day, everything starts afresh. That's my rhythm and mindset, and I hope I can keep doing it."  

When discussing the team's future development, Hugo Bueno said, "We are building something. Of course, it's not easy in the current atmosphere, environment, and situation, but our training quality is good, and we wake up every day trying to improve. The results haven't shown yet, but I think we showed better form on Saturday, and we must continue to maintain that. However, what is certain is that we are gradually building something."
