Kiernan Dusbury-Hall believes the team needs to examine itself and make changes in preparation for the remaining four crucial games.

After Everton suffered their second consecutive stoppage-time defeat, Kiernan Dieusbury-Hall called on his team members to step up and take responsibility. West Ham United beat Everton 2-1 at the London Stadium with a 92nd-minute winner from Callum Wilson, after Everton had just equalized.

For Everton, this defeat was remarkably similar to their Merseyside loss a week earlier. Kiernan Dieusbury-Hall pointed out that the team must make improvements if they want to return to their best form.

Speaking about his equalizing goal in the 88th minute, the midfielder said: "The goal came late, but the timing was very important. It could have given us the initiative and even a chance to win the game. But conceding a goal just minutes later was disappointing."

“What I mean is, conceding a goal immediately after scoring one is clearly not good. We need to reflect on ourselves and see where the problem lies. Both goals should never have happened. Yes, it is indeed very disappointing because we had at least a chance to get a point, but ended up empty-handed.”

After consecutive defeats to Liverpool and West Ham United, Everton dropped to 11th place in the Premier League standings. However, they are only 3 points behind sixth place and still have a chance to qualify for European competitions next season.

Kiernan Dusbury-Hall continued, "Now is the time to step up and play a significant role in the final stretch. This is the most crucial phase of the season, and if handled properly, we can seize the opportunities."

"Unfortunately, we haven't done that yet, so we need to examine ourselves and make adjustments as soon as possible, because there are four important games ahead. It depends on ourselves; if we can achieve the desired results and maintain the right mindset, we can put ourselves in a favorable position."

Everton desperately need a strong comeback, with Kiernan Dusbury-Hall stating that the team must improve their set-piece defense. He said, "The four goals we've conceded in the last two games have been absolutely terrible, there's no other word to describe it. Their defense has been too loose, making it easy for opponents to score, and we haven't played like ourselves for most of the season."

“We’ve been tough to beat and very resilient overall, but we’ve clearly not scored enough goals, and we’re well aware of that and must take responsibility for it. Set pieces obviously need improvement because they’re holding us back. So we have to go back to training and work harder because these issues are putting us on the back foot in matches. To be honest, things aren’t ideal right now, but more importantly, we need to bounce back and prove we’re still fighting.”
