Will he stay on this summer? Kerr: We don't want to abandon Curry and Green; we'll definitely figure it out.

Steve Kerr recently stated that his future with the team may depend on the future career plans of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
The Golden State Warriors had a consistently poor season, ultimately being eliminated by the Phoenix Suns in the play-in tournament. With the season ending prematurely, there is widespread speculation that Steve Kerr will step down as Warriors head coach this summer after his contract expires.
On April 26th local time, the renowned American magazine *The New Yorker* released an exclusive interview with Steve Kerr. In the interview, Kerr discussed his future with the Warriors, stating frankly: "The situation is quite complex right now, and I have a lot of respect for the team and their current situation. I understand how this business works. Most coaches' tenures typically last only a limited time. After that, the best option for everyone is to move on. We need to determine if it's time to end things. The situation is complicated because Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are still on the roster."
"They have one year left on their contracts. I don't want to abandon them. If Stephen and Draymond retired this year, I think it would be an easy decision: we would leave together and the team would start a new journey. However, reality is not that simple. I think Stephen can play for a few more years, and we still have a chance to achieve great things together."
Cole concluded, "All issues will be discussed in the next one to two weeks, and we will definitely get things sorted out. Whatever happens, the ending will be satisfactory. I am very certain of this because this experience has been so meaningful that we cannot afford any mistakes."
If he chooses to step down this summer, Kerr's 12-year career with the Warriors will come to an end. Since taking office in May 2014, he has accumulated a record of 604 wins and 353 losses in the regular season and led the team to four NBA championships (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022).
