FA Cup – Eze scores as Arsenal beat Mansfield City 2-1

The fifth round of the 2025/26 FA Cup continued with a key match, with Arsenal, playing away, defeating Mansfield City 2-1 thanks to goals from Maduk and Eze.

Five minutes into the match, Mansfield City goalkeeper Liam Roberts made a mistake, allowing Max Doman to gain possession and take a shot, which was saved by Roberts. In the 9th minute, Arsenal continued their attack, with Havertz receiving a cross from Jesus and taking a shot, but the ball was blocked by Liam Roberts.

In the 12th minute, Mansfield City attempted a counter-attack. Tyler Roberts received the ball and unleashed a long-range shot, but the ball went wide of the post. In the 17th minute, Arsenal goalkeeper Kepa played a long pass, but Havertz's control of the ball was thwarted by Mansfield City goalkeeper Liam Roberts.

In the 50th minute of the second half, Arsenal defender Mali Salmon made a mistake while passing the ball, allowing Will Evans to gain possession and surge into the penalty area before firing a low shot into the net, leveling the score at 1-1 for Mansfield City. In the 53rd minute, Musk Dawman received the ball and dribbled past several defenders from the edge of the penalty area before unleashing a shot, but the ball was blocked.

In the 62nd minute, Arsenal substituted Eze and Timber for Havertz and Mali Salmon. In the 64th minute, Max Doman crossed the ball into the box, and Jesus's shot was cleared by the opposing defender.

In the 66th minute, Nergaard played a through ball to Eze, who adjusted his position before slotting the ball into the net, giving Arsenal a 2-1 lead. In the 76th minute, Calafiori suffered an injury while passing the ball and was subsequently replaced by Jaden Dixon. In the 82nd minute, Saka received a pass from his teammate and fired a shot from inside the penalty area, but it was saved by Mansfield City goalkeeper Liam Roberts.

Arsenal ultimately secured a 2-1 away victory against Mansfield City, clinching their place in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
