In the 43rd minute, Foden played a precise through ball forward, and Haaland's shot from a tight angle on the left side of the penalty area went just wide.
After the break, both sides continued their back-and-forth battle, neither giving an inch. In the 49th minute, Bernardo Silva skillfully maneuvered past Elliott Anderson and Neco Williams in the penalty area before unleashing a shot that was brilliantly saved by Sels. In the 56th minute, Jesus headed the ball across goal for White to backheel into the net, leveling the score at 1-1 for Nottingham Forest. Nottingham Forest responded in the 76th minute, with Anderson unleashing a powerful shot that breached Manchester City's goal.
In stoppage time of the second half, Manchester City had a chance to seal the victory with a free kick. Semenho's shot hit the crossbar, and the final score was 2-2.
