Toda Ekert: I think both sides showed great energy and competitiveness in this match.

Toda Ekert acknowledged the players' efforts in securing direct qualification. However, after a 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town, Southampton were forced into the playoffs. The match was played at St. Mary's Stadium, with a relatively slow pace in the first half.  

But after the break, Wes Burns broke the deadlock for Ipswich, quickly escalating the game. Ipswich knew that a victory would give them a chance to climb up the league table that night. However, Southampton maintained their characteristic counter-attacking resilience, responding swiftly. Ryan Manning equalized with a free kick and then provided an assist with about 10 minutes remaining, helping Kyle Larin to take the lead.  

Ultimately, the match ended in a draw, a result that was far from satisfactory for either team. With three minutes remaining, Jack Clark equalized. His subsequent shot hit the post and forced a crucial save from Daniel Peretz in stoppage time.  

After the match, Toda Ekert said, "We gave it our all. I think the team played exceptionally well in the second half. Although it was a bit unlucky to concede a goal early in the game, it also showed the players' spirit. No matter how the situation changed, we always persevered and always found opportunities to come back."
