Counter Strike 2: Former FaZe Clan In-Game Leader karrigan officially joins Team Falcons..

Saudi Arabia's state-owned Counter Strike 2 esports club Team Falcons announced on Monday via its official X (Twitter) account that former FaZe Clan In-Game Leader karrigan has officially joined the team.

According to Falcons' official statement, karrigan will replace the benched kyxsan as the new in-game leader.

Prior to this, he had already been removed from the current roster. During this spell, Falcons participated in the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Rio, but only managed a third-place finish.

karrigan's arrival means he will reunite with rifler NiKo. The two previously played for FaZe together for two years from 2017 to 2018, winning seven championships together.

Meanwhile, karrigan will also be teaming up with head coach zonic after a six-years.

The two previously collaborated together at Astralis in 2016, winning the ESL One New York European qualifiers.

karrigan will take over a Falcons team struggling in the playoffs.

Since signing HEROIC's core roster in January 2025, the team has reached the finals seven times, but only won once at the PGL Bucharest.

It's worth mentioning that karrigan's departure from FaZe was himself closely related to his recent poor performances.

Since January of this year, FaZe suffered consecutive setbacks in several S-Tier tournaments, including IEM Krakow, PGL Cluj-Napoca, ESL Pro League Season 23 Stage 1, and the BLAST Spring Open, ultimately missing out on IEM Cologne due to insufficient points.

To make matters worse, after failing to qualify for that tournament, a demoralized FaZe further compounded their woes by losing to Inner Circle at the PGL Bucharest earlier this month, finishing last in the group stage.

karrigan, 36, was born on April 14, 1990, in Denmark and also holds German citizenship. He began his professional Counter Strike esports career in 2006, primarily playing as an Entry Fragger, but also capable of playing as an In-Game Leader.

karrigan played for FaZe Clan twice at different stages of his career, leading the team to 18 S-Tier tournament titles, including the PGL Antwerp Major, IEM Katowice, IEM Cologne, IEM Sydney, IEM Chengdu, and multiple ESL Pro League titles.

Besides FaZe, he has also played for MOUZ, Fnatic, Playing Ducks, n!faculty, Reason, LeftoverZ, CPH Wolves, Dignitas, TSM, SoloMid, Astralis, Envy, and many other teams.
