Spirit swept Falcons and made a strong run to the IEM Rio Grand Finals.

In the recently concluded semifinals of IEM Rio 2026, Team Spirit swept their arch-rivals Falcons in two consecutive victories, successfully advancing to the team's first grand finals of the year.

This swift victory was significant, not only demonstrating the team's remarkable transformation recently, but also breaking their historical disadvantage of having more losses than wins against Falcons.

The maps for this match were Dust2 and Mirage. In the first game, Spirit's self-selected map Dust2, team leader magixx demonstrated exceptional tactical planning and individual skill on the defensive (CT) side, leading the team to a solid and steady victory with a score of 13-7.

Upon entering map two, Mirage, the situation completely transformed into a one-sided stomp by Spirit. Player zont1x was in superb form, completely freezing the usually deadly NiKo in head-on gunfights with a score of 6:2; at the same time, newcomer tN1R continued his strong resurgence, once again proving his value as a key piece of the puzzle.

With everyone contributing and working in perfect harmony, Spirit didn't even need to rely on star player donk to showcase individual heroism, easily securing the victory with a score of 13:4.

It's worth mentioning that the Spirit team's fluid teamwork in the absence of head coach Hally signifies that they are reaching new heights.

Next, Spirit will face either the host nation FURIA or Vitality in the Grand Finals. Regardless of their final opponent, a tough but highly anticipated showdown is about to begin.
