Brighton's draw against Tottenham earned praise from Schürrle for the players' positive attitude and fighting spirit.

Brighton & Wanderers, nicknamed "The Seagulls," managed a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur, nicknamed "The Lilywhites," after coming from behind to secure the win thanks to goals from Kaoru Mitoma and Rutger. Schürrle, the Premier League's head coach, said the failure to secure all three points was disappointing, but praised the team's excellent attitude and resilience.

In the 39th minute, Javi Simmons chipped a pass into the penalty area, and Pedro Porro headed the ball into the net, giving Tottenham a 1-0 lead. In first-half stoppage time, Gross delivered a cross, and Mitoma Kaoru volleyed it into the net, leveling the score at 1-1 for Brighton.

In the 77th minute of the second half, Lucas Berribal won possession and created an attacking opportunity. Javi Simons received the ball and fired a long-range shot from the edge of the penalty area, giving Tottenham Hotspur a 2-1 lead. In stoppage time, Van Heck intercepted the ball and passed it back into the penalty area, where Ruttel slotted it home, leveling the score at 2-2 for Brighton.

Brighton ultimately drew 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur away from home.

Brighton manager André Schürlzer said, "We showed incredible belief throughout the game. Although we didn't create many great chances, we took control of the game in the second half, and then the opponent took the lead again with a special moment. But we always believed in ourselves and eventually tied the score at 2-2."

“We are disappointed to only get 1 point because we came here to win, but overall it’s a good result of 2-2. We didn’t play at our highest level, but we showed attitude and resilience.”

In addition, Brighton are currently 9th in the standings with 47 points and will host Chelsea in the next round.

Schürlzer also said, "Kazunari Mitoma, Ruttel, Costuras and De Kuiper deserve praise; they had a huge impact on the game after coming on from the bench."
