Official: Eintracht Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmöller has been officially dismissed.

Eintracht Frankfurt released a statement on Sunday confirming the formal dismissal of head coach Dino Toppmöller. The official statement emphasized that the decision was reached after management comprehensively evaluated the team's performance in the recent three league matches.

In the past three league matches, Eintracht Frankfurt have failed to win against Borussia Dortmund (3-3), VfB Stuttgart (2-3), and Werder Bremen (3-3). They currently sit seventh in the Bundesliga with a record of 7 wins, 6 draws, and 5 losses, accumulating 27 points, and are still 6 points away from the Champions League qualification zone.

Eintracht Frankfurt have also struggled in the Champions League. After six league matches, they have only managed four points, with their sole victory coming in September last year when they thrashed Turkish giants Galatasaray 5-1.

Regarding the decision to dismiss Dino Topmöller, Frankfurt's sporting director, Markus Krösche, explained: "Dino Topmöller has always been fully committed to Frankfurt and has devoted himself to the club's daily work with great enthusiasm. We greatly appreciate his professionalism, work ethic, meticulous work attitude, and excellent interpersonal skills."

"Nevertheless, given the team's recent decline in performance, the club's management and board of directors reached a consensus after in-depth evaluation that the team urgently needs a new vitality. Frankfurt has always pursued a dynamic, aggressive, and compact style of football, but we have not yet fully reached this standard so far this season."

Krösche added that the club has temporarily assigned U21 coach Dennis Schmidt and U19 coach Alexander Meier to oversee the first team: "Dennis Schmidt and Alexander Meier are ready to take on heavy responsibilities in the current challenging situation. This gives us the necessary time to find permanent head coaches."

Toppmerl himself stated, "I originally very much hoped to continue working with the team to meet the challenges ahead. However, I accept the club's decision. I dedicate myself to my work at Frankfurt every day with enthusiasm and joy. Although the current situation is indeed not ideal, I am still proud of what we have accomplished together over the past two and a half years."

"It is a great pity that we can no longer continue working together. Thank you to everyone who trusted me, gave me opportunities, and has trusted me for so long. Thank you to all the players, coaching staff, management team, board of directors, and all the club staff. It has been an honor to coach Eintracht Frankfurt. I wish Eintracht Frankfurt a more stable and successful future."

Since taking over as head coach of Eintracht Frankfurt in July 2023, the 45-year-old Toppmöller has led the team to a record of 51 wins, 34 draws, and 26 losses. His most brilliant achievement during his tenure at Frankfurt was leading the team to a third-place finish in the Bundesliga and reaching the quarterfinals of the Europa League in the 2024/25 season.

Before taking over at Topmöller, he managed SV Merlin, Hambenfica, Dudelange, and Verton Excelsior. During this time, he led Dudelange to three consecutive Luxembourg national league titles and made history by qualifying for the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League group stage.

Topmöller also served as an assistant coach under Julian Nagelsmann for three years (2020-2023), during which time he played for RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich.
