In preparation for Saturday's Premier League derby against West Ham United, Tottenham manager Thomas Frank focused on newly signed midfielder Conor Gallagher at a press conference.
Frank couldn't hide his excitement about Gallagher's arrival, describing it as a top signing and believing that the 25-year-old English midfielder is a key missing piece in Tottenham's current puzzle.
At the press conference, Frank first thanked the club's management for facilitating this blockbuster deal. He pointed out that although Gallagher is young, he already has extensive experience in the Premier League and La Liga, and has served as team captain.
"First of all, he is an excellent player," Frank commented. "His leadership, pressing ability, directness of play, and goal-scoring instinct are exactly what we need right now."
Speaking about Gallagher's previous experience at Atletico Madrid in La Liga, Frank revealed that the player thoroughly enjoyed his time under Simeone. Frank believes that this overseas experience, coupled with his dominant performance in his final season at Chelsea, has shaped the more mature Gallagher we see today.
Beyond his immediate impact on the team's tactics and skills, Frank values Gallagher's mental attributes even more. He calls the new signing the team's "Culture Architect."
“He can drive the team forward in every training session and game,” Frank said. “That’s the Connor Gallagher I’m after. I believe he can go straight into the starting lineup and immediately improve the team’s performance.”
