Foreign media outlet Sheep Esports reported on Tuesday that the Spanish League of Legends club Heretics is considering benching their support player Stend.
According to the report, this move is closely related to the team's recent elimination in the quarterfinals of the LEC Versus.
The team's loss to GIANTX in the tournament prompted the club's management to make roster adjustments in response to this setback at the start of the year.
According to insiders, Heretics has already begun searching for a replacement for Stend.
Currently, the team has identified three potential replacements.
Galleons player Zoelys, French Flair player Targamas, and Misa's Korean player Han Gil (ID: Way) are all considered as potential replacements.
It is understood that Stend himself is open to leaving the roster. He is not ruling out joining a team outside of Europe.
Nevertheless, he will fully focus on helping Heretics turn things around first.
If a replacement cannot be found by April, Heretics is willing to continue working with Stend until the end of this Split.
Given that Heretics made three roster changes just before the offseason, the rapid turmoil is indeed surprising.
At the time, Stend and jungler Sheo were the only two players retained from the original roster.
Last year, Stend had an outstanding rookie season, even earning some Rookie of the Year votes, thus being kept in the club's long-term plans.
However, his performance in this LEC Versus fell short of expectations, seemingly prompting the club to reassess his situation.
Stend has been informed of the club's situation; while he hasn't been officially removed from the roster, his position for the new season is no longer guaranteed.
If the above reports are true, Heretics' Spring Split roster will be:
Toplaner: Tracyn
Jungler: Sheo
Mid: Serin
ADC: Yoon Sang-hoon (ID: Ice)
Support: To be determined
