Daniel Falk: We will still fight for every point.

Leeds United defeated Burnley 3-1 in the 35th round of the 2025/26 Premier League season, thanks to goals from Anton Stahtach, Okafor, and Calvert-Lewin. Manager Daniel Falk said he was proud of the team's mentality and fighting spirit, and stated that they would continue to fight for every point.

In the 8th minute, Yaka Björn played a through ball to Anton Stah, who received the ball outside the penalty area, turned, and fired a long-range shot into the net, giving Leeds United a dream start of 1-0. In the 52nd minute of the second half, Jaden Bogle crossed from the penalty area, and Okafor volleyed home to extend Leeds United's lead over Burnley to 2-0.

Just four minutes later, Leeds United's attack was cleared, and Tanaka Ao received the ball and fired a long-range shot, which was saved by Burnley goalkeeper Dubravka. Calvert-Lewin then followed up and scored, extending Leeds United's lead to 3-0. In the 71st minute, Jaedon Anthony played a through ball to Loom Chauna, who broke through the defense and fired a shot into the net, pulling one back for Burnley to 1-3.

Leeds United ultimately defeated Burnley 3-1 at Elland Road. After three wins and two draws in their last five matches, Leeds United currently sit 15th in the standings with 43 points, close to securing their survival in the Premier League.

Leeds United manager Daniel Falk said, "This is a very important victory for us. The players' attitude, commitment, teamwork and the atmosphere in the dressing room are impeccable. I am very proud of their performance so far."

“As I said before, we still have 12 points to fight for. Now we have 3 points in the first game, and we want to win the remaining 9 points.”

Daniel Falk points out, "Anton Stahel always provides amazing running, excels in set pieces, and can score goals and provide assists. He has a great mentality, is strong in physical duels, and also has good clearance ability on the field."

“I think he has had an outstanding season and deserves praise and attention. He is undoubtedly one of our core players and one of the best in his class.”

Daniel Falk also stated, "Even though we have theoretically secured our place in the league before the final round, we will still fight for every point. We hope to end the season in the strongest possible way and bring more cheering moments to the fans in the final game."

In addition, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who helped Leeds United secure the victory, said, "I think we wanted to start with a high level of intensity before the game, and I think we did that and executed the game plan very well. The opponents basically came into the game without any pressure, which can be threatening at times, but I am happy and proud of the team's performance."

“It was disappointing not to achieve the desired result last week, but I think the team atmosphere has been very good. We were completely focused on completing the task, and I think that was evident from the very beginning of the game.”
