Official: Juventus extend contract of 28-year-old midfielder Locatelli until 2030

Juventus announced on Friday that they have extended the contract of midfielder Manuel Locatelli. The new contract extends the original 2028 expiry date by two years, until June 30, 2030.

The 28-year-old Locatelli came through AC Milan's youth academy and made his Serie A debut for the first team on April 21, 2016. He then moved to Sassuolo, where he played for three seasons, before joining Juventus in August 2021 for €36.4 million.

To date, Locatelli has made 224 appearances for Juventus, scoring 9 goals and providing 17 assists. His greatest achievement during this period will undoubtedly be winning the Coppa Italia with Juventus in 2024.

Following the contract extension, Juventus CEO Damian Comoli stated: "We remember Manuel's emotional statement when he joined in 2021 that he had always been a Juventus supporter. This extension is both a natural result of his steadily improving on-field leadership and a reflection of his indomitable Juventus spirit, perfectly aligning with our club's values and ambitions."

“This move further solidifies the stability and continuity of our competitive blueprint,” he concluded. “We are always looking to the future and committed to continuously improving the team’s competitiveness.”

Locatelli also briefly expressed his deep affection for Juventus after renewing his contract: "I have dreamed of you since I was a child. You symbolize passion, honor and responsibility. We will go to the end together."
