The 18th round of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season will feature a key match, with defending champions Bayern Munich traveling to face RB Leipzig. Kompany expressed confidence in Musiala's recovery progress and believes that the returning players will be in better form to help the team contend for the title.
Bayern Munich defeated Cologne 3-1 in the last round of the Bundesliga after goals from Gnabry, Kim Min-jae, and Lennart Karl. With 15 wins and 2 draws in 17 matches, Bayern Munich currently sits comfortably in first place in the standings with 47 points, 11 points ahead of second-placed Dortmund.
Bayern Munich midfielder Musiala, 22, suffered a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle in a collision with the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper during the Club World Cup match last July. He needed a long recovery period before returning to the team. However, Musiala has recently returned to training and is making good progress in his form.
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany said, "I have always had confidence in his recovery. We must believe in the player and believe that this is not a step backward, but rather a step forward. I have always supported the player, and everyone in the club has done so, whether it is Freind, Eberl, or my coaching staff. This is very important to us."
“When I was a player, I often got injured early in the season, and what players really want is to be able to compete for the championship at the end of the season. This is a huge motivation for players. We are just getting started, and these players are capable of changing the game.”
Kompany continued, "Musiala exudes a very positive energy, and even small improvements are wonderful, making one appreciate everything more. He's going through that phase, as is Alphonso Davies. I hope to protect both of them, and right now the most important thing is to help them reintegrate smoothly into the team."
"At some point, they will return to their pre-injury level. Playing consecutive games can bring about a return to form and fitness, and now he has time to rebuild his body, improve his agility and speed, which is why sometimes injuries can actually allow players to return stronger."
