Aston Villa manager Unai Emery reveals squad's preparations

Aston Villa will host Celtic in their final Champions League group match, and coach Unai Emery has revealed the team's preparations.

At the pre-match press conference, Emery told reporters that the final lineup will be decided after this afternoon's training session. Emery said: "I will observe the condition of each player in training to determine the lineup for tomorrow's game."

Emery also mentioned the team's young players Lemare Bogarde and Syl Swinkasse. Emery said: "Bogarde helped us a lot in the early season. He worked hard every day in training and is a player we can choose."

"Swinkles has also been training with us, but we are considering loaning him out. I think he needs more game experience. Only by accumulating enough playing time can he adapt to the Champions League game of this level like tomorrow in the future."

Regarding the team's defensive adjustments, Emery said: "We have enough players to remain competitive and confident. Certain versatile players need to adapt to different positions, including Lucas Digne who played as a defender in the previous game. His left foot is crucial in our backcourt organization."

"He is an experienced player who can play confidently even at centre-back. If we need him, I am sure he can play in that role."

When asked about the health of Aston Villa's main player Tyrone Mings, Emery did not give a definite answer: "First we will see if Mings can play. If he can, he will play."

Aston Villa currently has 13 points in the Champions League and is ranked 9th. If Aston Villa can win the last Champions League group match, it will have a chance to squeeze into the top eight, but judging from the current situation, the competition to enter the top eight is very fierce.
