Ruben Amorim: My players are always my favorites

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim clarified that he did not want to sign new players and said that the current players will always be his favorites.

The third round of the FA Cup has begun, and Manchester United will play away against Arsenal. At the pre-match press conference, the reporter asked about the plans for the January transfer window. Amorim said: "The first thing I want to say is that I don't remember explicitly saying that I want new players."

"I said we needed to improve recruitment. When we target players we have to make sure they can cope with the demands. Sometimes you have to take a little risk. I also said we had to improve our academy system.

"It's about developing young players who can fit in properly at the club, but also being able to do some commercial things through that to free up money for investment in the squad. Our aim is always to keep the best players and the players we have built for the club."
