Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard reportedly on the verge of joining Corinthians..

Brazilian online media outlet Globo Esporte exclusively reported on Tuesday that former Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard is on the verge of joining Corinthians.

According to the report, Lingard was spotted arriving at São Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport by fans and immediately told them he was in Brazil for work.

When the fan pressed him further about his work commitment, Lingard said that he would be in talks with the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A powerhouse regarding a potential transfer.

If the report is true, it would mean Lingard becomes the second high-profile British player in recent years to choose to play in a American league, following former Cardiff City, Arsenal, and Juventus Wales international midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

This also means Lingard will reunite with his former teammate, Netherlands international striker Memphis Depay, since leaving Manchester United.

Furthermore, this would dispel rumours claiming that Lingard was about to join Malaysian Super League champions Johor Darul Ta'zim!

About Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard, 33, was born on December 15, 1992, in Warrington, England. He is 1.75 meters tall and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but can also play as a left or right winger. He holds dual British, St. Vincent, and Grenadines citizenship. His cousin, Gabby George, is an England women's international defender currently playing for Manchester United.

Lingard joined Manchester United's youth academy at the age of seven. During his time there, he, along with former teammates Ravel Morrison, Michael Keane, and Paul Pogba, won one FA Youth Cup, one Manchester County Cup, and one Lancashire Cup in the 2010/11 season, earning them the media moniker of the "Golden Generation of 2010."

In the summer of 2011, Lingard was promoted to Manchester United's first team. The following November, he and Keane were loaned-out to Leicester City.

In September 2013, Lingard was loaned-out to Birmingham City, and in February of the following year, he was loaned-out to Swansea City.

Upon returning from his loan spell in the summer of 2014, Lingard completed his Manchester United first-team debut in August of the same year.

In February 2015, Lingard was loaned-out to Derby County.

Upon returning from his loaned spell in the summer of the same year, Lingard officially became a regular starter for the first-team.

During his 11-year spell with the Red Devils, Lingard led the team to one FA Cup, one League Cup, one Community Shield, and one Europa League title win.

In the summer of 2020, Lingard was frozea out of the squad by the Premier League giants due to his questionable personal life and an unusually poor form.

At the end of January of the following year, Lingard was loaned-out to West Ham United.

During his loan spell, Lingard's outstanding performances helped the club qualify for the Europa League and earned him widespread praise.

After returning to Manchester United from his loan spell in the summer of 2021, Lingard once again made appearances for the first-team, but he couldn't replicate his form from his time with West Ham.

After his contract expired in the summer of 2022, Lingard joined Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.

During his time there, he helped Forest reach the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup and successfully avoid relegation.

In February 2024, Lingard joined FC Seoul on a free transfer.

During his time at FC Seoul, Lingard made 67 appearances for the K1 League club in all competitions, scoring 119 goals and providing 10 assists, and helped the team reach the quarter-finals of the Korean Cup twice.
