According to Michael Scotto, a renowned reporter for HoopsHype, the Cleveland Cavaliers have signed Olivier Sal to a two-way contract.
Sarr, 27, is a 2.08-meter tall, 109-kilogram French center who entered the NBA in 2021 as an undrafted player. This season, he played for the Toronto Raptors' G League affiliate, the Raptors 905, averaging 11.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in 39 games.
However, Sal is not without NBA experience. He played three seasons for the Oklahoma City Thunder, appearing in a total of 46 regular season games, averaging 4.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in 13.8 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 56.0% and a three-point percentage of 37.2%.
To make room for Salah, the Cavaliers also confirmed the waiver of 26-year-old two-way guard Darius Brown. Brown has been frequently moving between the Cavaliers and their G League affiliate this season, appearing in only one regular season game so far. He also played 34 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging 12.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 9.7 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.
